Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em was developed by Roger Snow of Bally Gaming, Inc. (formerly Shuffle Master). It is one of the newest variations of the poker game and is currently widely popular among US casinos. It is one of the most in-demand niche table games in casinos in Las Vegas and many other states. It was from there that a Texan named Crandell Adderley saw the business opportunity in. Online poker players mostly focus on Texas Hold’em. But that certainly doesn't mean your case for becoming a successful player is hopeless. This is especially the case if you read the following step-by-step guide on how to win at Texas Holdem poker.
The format of Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em is similar to other variants of poker available in most casinos and online poker sites. The player and the dealer will both get two cards. The former will then be allowed to look at their own cards and decide if they wish to check or raise four times the ante.
I may as well say that tomorrow I'm going to be making new gambling videos for pai gow (tiles), Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em, blackjack, and Three Card Poker.In preparing for Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em I wanted to present a simple strategy for the game. Here is what I came up with.
4X Raise
Follow the optimal strategy below.
2X Raise
Raise with any hidden pair or better
or
Raise with 4-flush including suited 10 or better or pocked twos
1X Raise
Raise with a hidden pair or better.
or
Raise if less than 21 outs beat you.
Here is an example of the '21 outs' rule.
The this example the following number of each rank will be beat you in the dealer's hole cards:
Aces: 4
Kings: 3
Queens: 4
Jacks: 3
8's: 3
6's: 3
5's: 3
Total = 23
Because 21 or more outs beat you -- fold.
I must admit that the 'outs' idea comes from the James Grosjean strategy card. So does the second rule under 2x raise. However, I feel there is no way to address the game without using these common ways to express poker strategy.
I asked JB to analyze this new simplified strategy. Here are his results:

As a reminder, the house edge under optimal strategy is 2.185%. So, this is only 0.47% higher. Yeah, 0.47% is a lot, but keep in mind that is relative to just the initial bet, and the game also includes the blind and raise bets. The element of risk is 0.526% under optimal strategy and 0.635% under this Wizard strategy, which is only 0.11% higher. That is about one full bet every 900 hands.

Thanks, Wiz. I've been playing the initial bet that way, the second bet as 'raise all hidden pairs better than deuces', and the third bet as seat of the pants guessing. This chart is just as easy, and give a better chance. Thanks again.

I like it. It's a little simpler than the Grosjean strategy and close enough for the casual gambler like me. That said I am not sorry I spent the low price of $6 on his set of two cards (laminated readable size and plastic wallet size.)
I really enjoy this game and have noticed that most people play it very poorly and even criticize my play (Grosjean strategy.) Your strategy is simple enough that more people might bother to learn it. Then again the average player just can't come to grips with raising 4x on any ace, so maybe not.

We should probably be happy people check pre-flop with good hands. If everyone played correctly the casinos would probably start reducing the pay table on the blind bet.

I agree with that principle regarding every game. That is why I say that I'm not trying to save everybody, only those who will listen. It takes some bad gamblers to subsidize the good ones.
In other news, JB Emailed me some improvements over the strategy above. I'm still going over that with him. So, stay tuned for an even better one.

Let me clarify the second 2x raise rule. Administrator
Before it said, 'Raise with 4-flush including suited 10 or better or pocked twos.'
I'm going to reword that to 'Raise with 4-flush including a hidden 10 or better to the flush in the hole.' This makes it clear the player must have a good kicker, in case the dealer gets a flush too.
The pocket twos was evidently not very helpful to add and doesn't happen very often, so I dropped that.
JB suggested I add a rule under 1x saying to always raise with a straight or higher on the board. However, I feel that case is covered under the 21 strikes rule. If there is a pat straight or better on the board there will be fewer than 21 outs that improve it.

This makes your pot odds 15:5, or 3:1, meaning you need better than a 3:1 chance of hitting your drawing hand to make this a profitable call.Pot odds are only the tip of the iceberg, and you should continue adding implied odds, reverse implied odds, equity, bet sizing and more to your knowledge arsenal. Other concepts that you want to master as a beginner include limiting your bluffing, knowing table position and bankroll management.

One of the first struggles that you'll incur when trying to learn how to win at Texas Holdem involves paying attention to the game. Unless you're starting out with a fast-fold variant, which we don't recommend, you'll find that poker is a really slow-moving game. So you might be tempted to multi-task while playing or even try playing more than one online table at once (multi-tabling).
But we highly discourage doing anything like this right away because you should be 100% focused on your opponents and trying to figure out what cards they're playing. Specifically, you want to think about what their 'range' of hands is based on their previous actions. This is only something that can be gained by watching your opponents during every hand—
including the ones you're not involved in.The goal is to build a profile of everybody at the table so you can figure out what range they play in each situation. For example, if you see another player get caught trying to steal blinds with 6-5 unsuited in late position, you know that they have a wide range in these situations, allowing you to call against them with more hands.
Keep in mind that it's tougher to read opponents as you move up in stakes. So it's nice to hone these skills, along with your overall no limit holdem strategy, in the micro stakes before moving up in limits.

Here's a brief rundown on some different tools that you can use:
- Poker Articles - Abundant, and very good for learning the basics of how to win at poker. It's especially nice when articles are categorized in beginner, intermediate and advanced sections.
- Poker Books - These are a good way to get inside the head of a pro and see how they think when playing the game. Just be sure that the concepts are relevant and not outdated, though.
- Training Videos - There was an explosion of training videos in the late 2000s, as players moved away from books/articles and craved visual strategy. The great thing about training videos is that you get to see players actually playing online poker as they discuss different topics. But beware that not everybody who does training videos is a long-term winner.
- Live Streaming (Twitch) - This has become one of the most-popular ways to learn poker tips because you get to watch skilled pros in real-time. Plus, you might also be entertained by some of the better Twitch performers. Jason Somerville,Bertrand Grospellier and Jaime Staples have become stars through live streaming.
- Coaching - You can get one-on-one training by hiring a coach. The quality of coaching you get often depends on whom you hire and how much money you spend. But this option is worth pursuing if you want a good player to critique your play and explain what you need to do to get better.
- Heads-Up Displays (HUDs) - These are tools that help keep track of various stats on opponents and your own play during a session. Some online poker sites have banned these tools while others still allow you to use HUDs since they aren't technically cheating.
As you can see, there are lots of different ways to get better at poker. The main thing that you need to do is dedicate enough time to the matter and take advantage of all these methods so that you have a strong chance of learning how to win at Texas Holdem poker.
